By signing up for the one-on-one coaching program with Dr. Trevor Wilkins, known as the Angry Viking Therapist, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read this document carefully before enrolling in any coaching services. This agreement outlines the scope, purpose, and limitations of the coaching relationship, as well as your responsibilities as a participant.
1. Scope of Coaching Services
1.1 Coaching vs. Therapy:
Although Dr. Trevor Wilkins is a licensed therapist, the services provided through this coaching program are strictly coaching services and not psychotherapy. Coaching sessions are designed to help you achieve personal goals, build mental resilience, and develop strategies for overcoming obstacles in your life. These sessions are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any mental health disorders or conditions.
- Coaching: Focuses on goal setting, personal development, mental toughness, and accountability. It’s a future-oriented process that helps clients clarify and achieve specific life goals.
- Therapy: Focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, with a deeper exploration of emotional issues, past trauma, and psychological health. Therapy will not be provided as part of this coaching service.
1.2 No Emergency Services:
Coaching services provided through this program are not a substitute for crisis intervention or emergency services. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or require immediate psychological assistance, you should contact emergency services or a licensed mental health provider.
2. Pros and Cons of Coaching Participation
2.1 Pros:
- Personal Growth: Coaching offers structured guidance to help you set and achieve personal or professional goals, develop mental toughness, and build resilience.
- Action-Oriented: Coaching is focused on moving forward, making concrete plans, and implementing strategies to overcome challenges in your life.
- Accountability: You’ll receive strong accountability, ensuring you stay committed to your personal development and the objectives we set during the coaching process.
2.2 Cons:
- Not Therapy: If you have deeper emotional or psychological needs that require therapy, coaching may not provide sufficient support.
- Effort-Driven: Results from coaching are highly dependent on your commitment to implementing the strategies discussed. Lack of effort or follow-through may limit your success.
- Not Covered by Insurance: Coaching is typically not covered by health insurance or employee assistance programs (EAPs), unlike therapy services.
3. Client Responsibilities
3.1 Active Participation:
You agree to fully engage in the coaching process, which includes completing any tasks or exercises assigned between sessions. Success in this program is highly dependent on your commitment and readiness to take action.
3.2 Honesty and Transparency:
In order for coaching to be effective, it’s essential that you are open, honest, and transparent about your goals, challenges, and obstacles. Misrepresentation of your situation will hinder the coaching process.
3.3 Personal Accountability:
While Dr. Wilkins will provide direction and support, it is your responsibility to take action on the guidance provided. The coach will challenge you and push you to achieve your goals, but the outcome ultimately rests on your ability to follow through.
4. Confidentiality
4.1 Confidentiality Commitment:
Any personal information shared during coaching sessions will remain confidential. Dr. Wilkins will not disclose any information to third parties without your explicit consent, unless required by law (e.g., in cases of imminent harm to self or others).
4.2 Limitations of Confidentiality:
Because this is a coaching service and not therapy, the confidentiality standards may differ from those in clinical therapy settings. While your privacy is a top priority, coaching services are not subject to the same legal confidentiality protections as therapy.
5. Payment and Refund Policy
5.1 Payment:
Payment for coaching services is due at the time of booking. The cost for each one-on-one coaching session is [Insert Amount] and is non-refundable once the session has been completed.
5.2 Cancellation Policy:
If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, you must provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Failure to cancel within this timeframe will result in forfeiting the session fee. Cancellations made with sufficient notice may be rescheduled for a later date, subject to availability.
6. Limitations of Liability
6.1 No Guarantees of Results:
While coaching aims to help you achieve your goals, results are not guaranteed. Your progress is dependent on your commitment, willingness to engage in the process, and the effort you put in. Dr. Wilkins is not responsible for any outcomes, whether positive or negative, resulting from participation in the coaching program.
6.2 Waiver of Liability:
By enrolling in this coaching program, you agree to release Dr. Wilkins and his affiliates from any liability related to the outcomes of the coaching process. You understand that participation is voluntary and that you are responsible for any decisions and actions taken as a result of coaching.
7. Termination of Services
Dr. Wilkins reserves the right to terminate coaching services at any time if it is determined that coaching is no longer appropriate for your needs or if you violate the terms of this agreement. Should termination occur, any future sessions already paid for will be refunded.
8. Agreement to Terms
By enrolling in the one-on-one coaching program with Dr. Wilkins, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service. You also agree that this program is coaching in nature and not therapy, and you accept the risks and benefits of participating.
If you have any questions about these terms or need further clarification, please reach out to [email protected].
